Il n'est donc pas rare que les amateurs modifient une Mustang Fastback pour lui donner l'identité visuelle de celle du film. C'est le cas de la GT 390 que nous proposons, préparée au Canada il y a plus d'une dizaine d'années, et achetée par son actuel propriétaire, un dynamique pilote et collectionneur, en 2015 après son importation en France. Il l'a beaucoup utilisée et, comme il souhaitait qu'elle soit irréprochable, il en a confié en 2018 la remise en état mécanique à Cecil Cars, spécialiste expérimenté. De très nombreux travaux ont été effectués, changement de la direction assisté, réfection mécanique, montage d'un échappement d'origine, qu'il est possible de détailler dans une facture qui totalise 64 745,86 euros. Aujourd'hui impeccable, cette Mustang Bullitt fait partie des réalisations les plus réussies dans ce domaine. Les passionnés ne devraient pas s'y tromper !... With the spectacular jumps in the streets of San Francisco, its smoking tires and the howls of the V8, interspersed with the music of Lalo Schifrin, this scene, which ends with the explosion of the Dodge, is one of the finest car chases ever. The Bullitt Mustang, with its dark green hue (Highland Green), has been in the collective memory of all for a long time. Thus, it is not unusual for enthusiasts to modify a Mustang fastback to give it the visual identity of that of the film. This is the case with the GT 390, which we are offering, prepared in Canada more than a decade ago, and purchased by its current owner, a racer and collector, in 2015 after its import into France. He used the car a lot and, as he wanted it to be flawless, in 2018 he entrusted the mechanicals to be redone by Cecil Cars, an experienced specialist. A great deal of work has been done, including the change of power steering, repair, to the mechanicals, fitting an original exhaust system, all of which is seen in invoices totaling 64,745.86 euros.
