Its chassis was completely restored in 2017 by a renowned specialist in the world of Porsche prototypes (see photo file). In fact, all the specific features of the 550 A chassis have been taken on board to make it as close as possible to the original. In March 2024, its original Volkswagen Flat 4 (1,776 cm3) was completely rebuilt at the Bug Shop in Vallauris at a cost of €6,500 (invoice attached). With a weight of 550 kg and a powerful engine, our car is perfectly balanced. First registered in 1969, our car has a polyester body with perfect lines and proportions! Recently repainted, the overall look of the car is impeccable. It is fitted with the original 16-inch wheels and new drum brakes. The steering wheel, dashboard, meters, lights, door handles, gear lever, 904-style pedals, fuel tank and oil cooler are all original! 4th hand according to its Histovec report, this car has been duly registered in France since July 1978 with the words "Spyder 550 replica" and "11MOD" as the administrative type.
