Lot no. 124
French title Chassis No DBSV 810106 L Engine No V/540/083 - Rare left-hand drive version / manual gearbox - Exceptional condition - Second hand, original 23,529 km - No reserve This car has experienced quite an unusual career start: sold to a buyer in Nice, the car was delivered to him by road. However, having died shortly after, the car was not used and therefore went back to Paris, again by road. "When I bought it, the car had only done 2,000 km of this back and forth trip in the south" says Andre Trigano. He then drove it regularly for his personal use between Paris and l'Ariege. "One day, I was stopped by the police near Vierzon and thought they were about to reprimand me however, they just wanted to look at the engine!" Under the bonnet, the superb intake manifolds confirm the exclusivity of the 325 hp 5.4-litre four-cam V8 engine designed by Tadek Marek. With this engine, the DBS finally had the power fit for its size and a performance worthy of the best GT cars of that era, as stated by our collector: "Out of all the sports cars I've driven, the Aston is my favorite one. It was very comfortable and easier to drive than an Italian car, like the Lamborghini 400 GT". Equipped with the optional air conditioning, this example is one of the rare versions with manual gearbox (estimated at 130 units) and left-hand drive (which should represent about 10 examples). Originally in grey, it was repainted in sky blue colour following Andre Trigano's request. It has an original mileage of 23,529 km and the interior is beautifully preserved with superb upholstery, an Autovox autoradio and impeccable fittings. With a more expensive price tag than a Ferrari Daytona at the time, this beautiful example can only attract enthusiasts' attention thanks to its transparent history and the exceptional original condition. We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads. © Peter Singhof
