Lot no. 217
Italian registration Box No. 2,140,350 MV4C75 * Engine # 214-0290 - Unmatched prestige - Comes with its motor home - Fantastic sound - In superb condition - Delivered new in Germany In the early 1950s, motorcycling racing was dominated by the big mono from the British brands of Norton, AJS, Matchless and others, and so when the sophisticated four-cylinder machines made by Count Domenico Agusta arrived, they really struck everyone. Derived from the Gilera 500, this engine brought the MV Agusta brand a huge number of victories and championships in the hands of the greatest riders of all time, such as John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini. These racing machines then gave birth to a marketable street legal range, starting with a 600 from 1965. The 750 S was its successor and had a sportier nature. Unveiled at the Milan Furniture Fair of 1970, the 750 S constantly evolved and the bike that we present was the version that developed 69bhp at 7800rpm, which allowed the two-wheeler a MV Agusta a max speed in excess of 200 km/h, along with a fantastic sound. According to the factory records, the MV 750 Sport was assembled on April 16, 1973 and was delivered on May 4, 1973 to Mr. Schneider, from Baden-Baden, in Germany. Its history is known and it is a model that combines the features of the more interesting second series built between 1973 and 1974. Just 215 bikes of the 750 S with double disc brakes were made, before it became optional. In the late 1990s the motorcycle was owned by an English collector, Brian Verrall, who then sold it to an Italian. The bike was restored in the early 2000s and sold to M. Carelli sho in turn sold it to our collector. The bike comes with a certificate from the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) and is registered with the MV Agusta Owners Club Britain, and it will be sold with a copy of the original parts manual. In very good condition, it displays 20,480km on the odometer and has its original engine. It is rare that MV Agusta 750 S of this quality comes on the marketplace and is a great representative of one of the most prestigious touring machines in the history of motorcycling, and thus should appeal to fans.
