Jetronic, le moteur développe désormais 128 ch aidé par un allumage électronique qui lui permet d'atteindre 185 km/h. Une boîte à 5 rapports est aussi montée en série ainsi que des projecteurs antibrouillard et de belles jantes en alliage léger. Les moulures de carrosserie sont noir mat pour lui conférer un air plus sportif en accord avec son nouveau titre de GTi. De nouveau sièges enveloppants à appui-tête ajourés sont aussi adoptés. En 1979, la CX est arrivée à maturité et son avenir est assuré. Quelques modifications de détails sont au catalogue tels que l'adoption d'une nouvelle console centrale surmontée d'un cendrier rotatif sphérique surnommée ''la grenouille'' et des ceintures de sécurité arrière de série. La voiture présentée a été révisée mécaniquement en 2016 par le garage Dupleix à Choisy le roi et ensuite entretenue régulièrement chez Cuir & Chromes à Gargenville. Elle a participé au rallye de Monte Carlo historique et son certificat héritage Citroën est présent au dossier. A few detail changes are on the catalog such as the adoption of a new center console topped by a spherical rotating ashtray dubbed "the frog" and standard rear seat belts. The car on offer was mechanically serviced in 2016 by the Dupleix garage in Choisy le Roi and then regularly maintained at Cuir & Chromes in Gargenville.
