1981 Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer Carte grise française Chassis n° 34619 - 25 000 miles d'origine - Même propriétaire depuis 26 ans - Version à carburateurs la plus désirable Lorsque la 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer remplaça la glorieuse Daytona en 1973, depuis longtemps déjà Lamborghini avec la Miura, et Maserati avec la Bora, avaient lancé la production de voitures sophistiquées à moteur central arrière. Aussi l'arrivée de la Berlinetta Boxer, ou BB, ne fut pas une surprise. Le moteur était un splendide Flat-12 de 4,4 litres d'une architecture très proche des formules 1 Ferrari de l'époque. A la conduite, la BB était plus légère et plus vive que la Daytona, et tout aussi à l'aise dans les grandes courbes autoroutières. En 1976, la cylindrée du moteur passe à 4,9 litres, sans augmentation de puissance, par contre le couple augmentait, rendant la voiture moins pointue et plus agréable à conduire. En février 2013 à Rétromobile, nous présentions une très belle collection d'un ami corse, Pierre Brignole, chanteur, compositeur et homme de goût. Dans sa collection se cotoyaient Lamborghini Countach et Miura, Dino 246, Bugatti 57 Cabriolet Vanvooren… Il avait choisi par goût de garder la 512 BB présentée ici. Pierre en avait fait l'acquisition le 19 juin 1989 lors d'une vente 'Art et Locomotion' dirigée par Maître Poulain au Palais des Congrès. Elle était alors en titre de circulation américain d'où elle provenait. Elle était décrite à l'époque comme " ne présentant aucun défaut mécanique comme de présentation ". Son propriétaire, très attentif au bon état de son écurie aux Chevaux Cabrés, n'a cessé d'apporter grand soin à cette automobile grâce au professionnalisme de Noël Faillace bien connu des collectionneurs de Ferrari sur l'Ile de Beauté. L'intérieur en cuir noir est en bon état d'origine présentant une jolie patine. La 512 BB représente le must de Ferrari dans les années 70, début 80. La version à carburateurs est la plus recherchée. Le fait qu'elle soit restée entre les mains du même connaisseur depuis 26 ans est un véritable point fort. La 512 BB, en termes d'investissement, est promise à un très bel avenir et celle-ci représente une belle opportunité d'acquérir le fleuron de Ferrari de 1976 à 1981. And so the arrival of the Berlinetta Boxer, or BB, wasn't a surprise. It had a splendid 4.4-litre flat-12 engine with an architecture resembling the F1 Ferrari of the day. To drive, the BB was lighter and more responsive than the Daytona, and quite at home on the long sweeping highways. In 1976, the engine grew to 4.9-litres, representing an increase not in power but in torque, making the car much more enjoyable to drive. In February 2013 at Retromobile, we offered a wonderful collection of cars belonging to a friend from Corsica, Pierre Brignole, a singer, composer, and man of great taste. In his collection, a Lamborghini Countach and Miura sat alongside a Dino 246 and a Bugatti 57 Cabriolet Vanvooren...At the time he chose to hang onto the 512 BB presented here. Pierre had bought the car on 19 June 1989 in the " Art et Locomotion " sale held by Maître Poulain at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. At that time it had American registration, having come from the US. It was then described as " showing no defect either mechanically or cosmetically ". The car's owner has diligently ensured the good condition of his stable of Prancing Horses, and has always maintained this car meticulously, with the professional help of Noël Faillace, well known to Ferrari collectors on the Ile de Beauté (Corsica). The black leather interior, in good, original condition, displays a lovely patina. The 512 BB represents the Ferrari of choice from the 1970s and early 1980s, and the carburettor version is the most highly sought after. The fact that this car has remained in the hands of the same connoisseur for the last 26 years is a real attraction.
