Lot no. 220
Dutch title Chassis n° ZFFAA17B000076967 Engine n°F113B12085 - Just 21 examples built - 45 603 km from new, immaculate condition - Complete file of invoices and history For some people, the best is not enough. In 1984, the Koenig Workshop, a German preparer based in Munich, developed an extremely high performing car, that was given the name Ferrari Testarossa Koenig Competition Evolution. As the name reveals, the model used as a starting point was extraordinary in its own right, as the Testarossa was a car that ordinary mortels could only dream of. However, Koenig went even further, making this supercar a hypercar before its time. As well as meticulously re-worked running gear set on a widened track, stabilizers, anti-roll bars and wide rims, the car was equipped with a special stainless steel sports exhaust system, and comprehensively modified body panels. The interior was also revised, with omnipresent leather upholstery available in a wide choice of colours. From the start, the car left no doubt about its road-going capabilities. Where the ordinary Testarossa had set a new benchmark for its performance, the Koenig version surpassed this with ease. For the Competition Evolution clients, Koenig also offered a twin turbo kit that increased the power to 1,000 bhp, or even more if requested. The owner of the car on offer did not take up this option. Having left the factory at the end of 1987, this car was sold in May 1988 and was then given the Koenig treatment, that is to say, a complete conversion of the body and the majority of the other modifications. The original Rosso Corsa colour was retained and it has matching leather interior. Although the V12 engine is naturally-aspirated, its power has reputedly been increased to 800 bhp, allowing the car to travel from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds ! Nevertheless, the car is easy to drive, the current owner has informed us. In 1995, it was bought by Top Cars GmbH, of Essen in Germany and was shown in displays at the Nürburgring and Techno Classica in Essen. A year later, a Dutch enthusiast bought the car and took it back to Koenig to have the front and rear modified in the style of the Ferrari 512 M. In 1999, with the odometer reading 42,000 km, the car was sold to its current owner, also Dutch, who used it a few times before putting it with his collection of Ferrari. With 45,603km on the clock today, the car has recently benefitted from a full service at Forza Service in Holland, and is presented in immaculate condition.
