Lot no. 70
1989 - Porsche 930 3.3 Turbo Cabriolet "BV5 Chassis n° WP0ZZZ93ZKS020235 French registration title French registration title Former Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Showcar, this eccentric 911 rightfully belongs in the most incredible collections dedicated to the brand! "Former Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Showcar, this eccentric 911 rightfully belongs in the most incredible collections dedicated to the brand!" - The turbocharged Type 930 variant of the Porsche 911 is one of the most recognisable and coveted Porsche road cars of all time. Produced from 1975 to 1989, the 911 Turbo combined a KKK turbocharger with the 3-litre Carrera RSR engine, delivering significantly more power and top speed than the naturally-aspirated 911 Carrera. From 3,500 rpm, the turbo blows at 0.8 bar and the engine delivers its full 300 bhp! - The 911 Turbo Cabriolet, with its electrically-operated soft top, was introduced for the 1987 model year, but it was in 1989 that it received the 5-speed G50 gearbox, which had already been tried out on the Carrera. Marketed for just one year, only a few hundred examples were produced worldwide, and fewer than 250 in Europe! Today, it is an icon of the 1980s for its fiery temperament and astonishing versatility, not to mention its beastly lines concealing a quality of finish that the finest luxury cars of the era would not have denied. - A former Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur show car, this example comes with eight options in addition to the model's rich standard equipment, including air conditioning, electric and heated seats, a 6-speaker audio system and extensive leather on the dashboard and door panels. But that's not all: its unique interior in Lilac leather (00311) contrasts with its Satin Black metallic hue (00011). A one-off, it is the only known Porsche 930 Turbo 3.3 with a G50 gearbox to be delivered new in this configuration. - According to its service book, which is still on file, our car was sold new in Germany and was serviced by the same dealership until 1995. In 1996, it was registered not far from Strasbourg and had clocked up 69,650 km. It changed hands three times until July 2020, when it joined the collection of its current owner, a famous French actor. - Matching Number and Matching Colors, this generously configured example was carefully maintained by its successive owners. Passed into the hands of the Centre Porsche Antibes in July 2023, its file includes invoices dating back to 2001 (77,142 km) and old technical inspections. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a car that will appeal to the most discerning collectors! - The turbocharged variant of the Porsche 911 Type 930 is among the most recognizable and coveted road-going Porsches of all time.
