Work by Marie Rachel Julie Riffault (born on 19 December 1834 and died at the age of 20 on 16 April 1855, in Chouzy sur Cisse) daughter of Eugène Riffault, mayor of Blois in the 19th century (friend of Baron Haussmann), and has remained in the family ever since. Binding from the famous "Couvent des Oiseaux", later known as the "Maison des oiseaux". This Catholic boarding school for young girls operated from 1818 to 1904. It was located on the border between the 6th and 7th arrondissements of Paris, between rue de Sèvres and Boulevard des Invalides.
