2001 - BMW Z8 ERRATUM: Chassis no. WBAEJ11020AF79624 Chassis no. WBAEJ110201F79624 French registration, title French registration, title A true rarity, only 196 examples were produced in Stratus metallic out of the 5,703 Z8s built. A true rarity, only 196 examples were produced in Stratus Metallic out of the 5,703 Z8s built. - The BMW Z8 is one of the most original and collectible sports cars of the last 20 years. After making its sensational debut on the motoring scene at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show and as the Bond Car in the 1999 hit film The World Is Not Enough, the spiritual heir to the legendary BMW 507 saw worldwide production reach 5,703 units between 1999 and 2003. - The exclusive Z8 was exceptionally well designed and built with a lightweight structure and aluminium body panels. This avant-garde configuration was complemented by a 400bhp V8 engine derived from the M5, which enabled the Z8 to outperform the Ferrari 360 Modena in terms of acceleration in time trials at the time. The exterior design, a minimalist Bauhaus-inspired tour de force, was by Henrik Fisker, father of the Aston Martin DB9 and the V8 Vantage a few years later. - From the outset, demand far exceeded BMW's planned supply, and only the most important customers were rewarded. Our example was sold and delivered to the Bavarian manufacturer's headquarters in Germany, before finally being registered in Monaco. According to our information, the car was owned by Prince Albert of Monaco until 2008, when its second and current owner purchased it from Concession Paris Monceau SA in Neuilly sur Seine on 29 April 2008. With 27,950 km on the clock at the time, it has since covered almost 9,000 km in 17 years. - Presented today in exceptional condition, we're not afraid to say that this is certainly the most beautiful car we've ever had the good fortune to present! In addition to being the rarest car in the catalogue, its Stratus metallic colour is extremely elegant, and its light beige leather interior is as good as new. Regularly serviced by the BMW dealership in Limoges, it's a delight to drive, with perfectly tuned suspension and reassuring brakes. The engine's range of use means that it is extremely supple, with amazing acceleration and a level of comfort worthy of the greatest GTs of the era. - Sold with its rare original hard-top, soft-top cover, anti-dirt net, complete tool kit, three sets of keys plus accessory keys, a large set of invoices dating back to its purchase in 2008, a duplicate logbook, owner's manual, radio and navigation system, this BMW Z8 has stood the test of time without a single wrinkle, and is now one of the most sought-after youngtimers. In this elegant and rare configuration, it represents a unique opportunity to acquire a future classic for both pleasure and investment. - The BMW Z8 is one of the most original and collectible sports cars of the past 20 years.
