21. * AR MAX ERNST (1891-1976) Janus signed, numbered 'max ernst 9/18' and bearing the partially effaced foundry stamp 'Valsuani Cire Perdue' (on the base) black patina bronze 44 x 22 x 22.5 cm. One of twenty numbered copies authorised with black patina; in addition to the numbers 1/18 to 18/18, two copies bearing the numbers 00/18 and 0/18 were made. Max Ernst made the plaster cast of the edition at the end of May 1974 in Paris. The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Dr Jürgen Pech.
