234. 234W An Italian neoclassical carved and giltwood stool in the manner of Piranesi, late 18th century Of rectangular form with canted angles, the pierced seat rail centred by a recessed flowerhead-filled reserve and hung with foliate swags, on serpent-entwined turned tapering legs headed by oval medallion reserves, upholstered with red damask fabric, losses to gilding, 53cm wide, 34cm deep, 35cm high (20 1/2in wide, 13in deep, 13 1/2in high).
