237. An exceptional set of four Louis XVI period ormolu sconces in the shape of a quiver, with three branches of light. An exceptional suite of four Louis XVI ormolu three-light wall lights, late 18th century Each with tapering and fluted ribbon-tied quiver backplate surmounted by upswept acanthus and a large flame, the backplates issuing the S-shaped acanthus-wrapped branches terminating in foliate drip-pans and fluted and gadrooned nozzles, one wall-light struck with inventory number: '2593 D C', another one struck with inventory numbers: '2592 D C' and '1904 D C', one pair of wall-lights, 45cm wide, 53cm high (17 1/2in wide, 20 1/2in high), the second pair, 46.5cm wide, 50.5cm high (18in wide, 19 1/2in high).
