An important shell-shaped oil lamp in gilt-bronze, first half of the 19th century It features a dolphin-shaped handle on the upper part; the bowl rests on a rectangular base with chiselled decoration; the upper part is removable and contains what is probably a gas mechanism. (missing parts, wear to the patina, scratches, oxidation), 32cm wide, 14cm deep, 38cm high (12 1/2in wide, 5 1/2in deep, 14 1/2in high).
