24. A Meissen figure of a blacksmith, circa 1750-55
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and probably P. Reinicke, wearing a yellow-lined green cap, a purple-lined blue jacket with gilt buttons, a long brown apron and white breeches, the anvil on a tree-stump and the rockwork base modelled with gilt-edged scrollwork and applied with a hammer on one side, 21.6cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear edge of base (minor chips)
