286. 286W A good early 18th century quarter repeating table clock movement now in a later case

The 8.5 inch arched brass dial with stylised wheatear border, a date aperture to the arch set over the horizontal upper case signature, Roman and Arabic chapter ring with half-quarter marks, matted centre with mock pendulum aperture. The possibly associated movement with twin gut fusees, verge escapement striking the hours on a bell and repeating the quarters on demand on six bells and hammers. The backplate signed in an oval foliate cartouche Jos: Windmills, London 60cm (1ft 11.5ins) high.
