Historical context A Rare "Tourist" Photograph on the Moon Pete Conrad captured this magnificent portrait of Alan Bean on the way to Halo Crater, making it one of the few "tourist" photographs taken during the Apollo program. Unlike more technical imagery, Conrad carefully planned this shot to capture a personal moment of their lunar journey. 133:15:25 Conrad: I'll tell you what. Let's see, we're cross-Sun, right?
