Lot no. 321
321. Lanvin, circa 1927. Arpège perfume bottle.
(damaged neck)
N.B.: The bottle was designed by Armand-Albert Rateau, who created the famous black ball topped with a gold gadrooned stopper. The drawing on the bottle by Paul Iribe is an old ex-libris used as an advertising vignette by Lanvin in the early 1920s. The stylised design is taken from a 1907 photograph of Jeanne Lanvin and her daughter Marguerite posing for a fancy dress ball.
