4. A George III gold Almanac cover
unmarked, circa 1815
Of book form, the 'covers' with basketweave engine-turning within pellet and flower head borders, the interior with a hinged marker, with pencil concealed in the 'spine,' in later leather carrying case, length 7cm, weight 55.90gms.
For similar, see Bonhams Fine Silver and Objects of Vertu, 5 July 2006, ex-lot 33. The former lot still contained an Almanac for 1815, printed for the Company of Stationers.
