42. A Meissen figure of a fisherwoman, circa 1745
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, holding a large fish in both hands, wearing a black cap, turquoise top with a white skirt and flower-decorated apron, a bucket containing fish to her left side, the base applied with leaves and a flower, 19.5cm high (minor restoration)

Kaendler's Taxa lists under no. 130: '1. Frau einen Karpffen in der Hand haltend, neben sich aber ein Fäßgen, worinnen Aale liegen, stehen habend, welche zu dem Fischer accordieren soll' [1 woman holding a carp in her hand with a barrel containing eels next to her, who goes with the fisherman].
