44. Meissen porcelain statuette of a Hungarian, circa 1750 A Meissen figure of a Hungarian, circa 1750 Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, wearing a fur-lined jacket with puce frogging, a white tunic with puce sash and gilt-edged puce cuffs, iron-red trousers and yellow boots and holding a fur-lined yellow hat in his left hand, the base applied with leaves and flowers, 22.2cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear edge of base (minor chips to applied leaves) Based on pl. 76 in the Comte de Ferriol's 'Receuil de cent estampes représentant différentes nations du Levant. . . . ', Paris 1714, or the edition published in German by Christoph Weigel the Elder in Nuremberg in 1719. Another example of this figure is in the Professor Klaus J.
