An Italian 'Grand Tour' patinated bronze and gilt-metal mounted white marble, rosso antico and giallo di Siena surtout de table, probably Rome, 19th century Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the white marble base with inset floral decoration and gilt-metal beaded border, a temple on eight columns to the centre, surrounded by twelve chained tapering pedestals headed by herms, eight reclining gilt-bronze sphinxes, four alabaster baths on gilt paw feet, four green-patinated bronze seated figures on stands and two standing draped figures on pedestals, above a foliate-tip carved giltwood stand on turned tapering legs, losses, 87cm wide x 43cm deep x 40cm high, (34in wide x 16 1/2in deep x 15 1/2in high)
