Painting, ink and colours on silk, depicting two swimming koi carp and waterweed, signed at lower right Chokusen kinga (Respectfully painted by Chokusen) with a seal; inscribed above Meiji Tennō gyosei Ikemizu ni chiriuku hana no katayorite hirefuru koi no kage mo mietsu (A poem by the Meiji Emperor: Flowers scattered on the surface of the pond drift together, the shadow of a koi flicks its tail beneath); signed Hachijūichi-ō Shōni-i Shishaku Fushihara Nobutaru kinsho (Respectfully written by Junior Second Rank Viscount Fushihara Nobutaru, aged 81) with a seal
