Decorative is what is added to the work that obscures its logic. But, in that sense, my art is not decorative. On the other hand, I consider ornament to be an art of effect, that which is immediately legible and appeals to people. So what I do is decorative, but not like a bourgeois masquerade. More like primitive visual writing, primitive art. Basic beauty. Decorative is a language of the masses.
