A Meissen part-tea service, circa 1750 Comprising a teapot and cover with bud finial, two teacups and matching saucers, teapot with a tapered and moulded ear-shaped handle accentuated in gilt and spout in the form of a sea creature also picked out in gilt, the body decorated with puce camaieu flowers and insects, the matching teacups with gilt strapwork around the rims and puce flower decorations, the saucers decorated with Watteau-style courting scenes within Arcadian landscapes in puce camaieu, the teapot: 10.6cm high, the cups: 4.5cm high, the saucers: 13.3cm diam., crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, (6)
