60. * PAIRE D'ASSIETTES EN PORCELAINE MONOCHROME AUBERGINE Marques et époque Kangxi (1662-1722) A PAIR OF INCISED AUBERGINE-GLAZED ANHUA-DECORATED 'DRAGON' DISHES Kangxi six-character marks and of the period Each with rounded sides rising to a gently flared rim, finely incised to centre with a striding dragon in pursuit of the flaming pearl, the exteriors similarly decorated with two sinuous dragons chasing the flaming pearl, covered overall with a rich lustrous purple glaze stopping in a neat line around the foot and pooling to a deeper tone in the incised areas. (2). 清康熙 茄皮紫釉暗刻龍紋對盤　 青花「大清康熙年製」楷書款 Provenance: Collection of Count Thierry de Ganay (1946-2015), Paris Christie's Paris, 4 November 2015, lot 326 來源: 亨利德加奈伯爵(1946-2015)舊藏, 巴黎 巴黎佳士得，2015年11月4日，編號326 Several examples of this type are known in museum and private collections, compare, for instance, a dish in the Shanghai Museum, illustrated in Kangxi Porcelains from the Shanghai Museum Collection, Hong Kong, 1998, pl.224, and another example from the Koger Collection, published in Chinese Ceramics: The Koger Collection, Sarasota, 1985, no.172, where it is suggested that this vibrant purple glaze was an innovation of the late Kangxi period, and that the Koger example was 'part of an Imperial dragon service continuing a style instituted under the Ming dynasty', ibid., p.172.
