64. A Meissen gilt-metal-mounted teapot and cover, circa 1725
With a curved spout with mask terminal, painted in the manner of J.E. Stadler in enamels and lustre with pavilions flanked by insects and indianische Blumen issuing from stylised rockwork, the handle and spout embellished with indianische Blumenand the mask in iron-red, the cover with flowers between lustre borders, the mounts with acanthus borders, 11.5cm high
A similar teapot and cover, formerly in the Adalbert von Lanna Collection, Prague, is in the Grassimuseum, Leipzig (D. Gielke, Meissener Porzellan des 18. jund 19. Jahrhunderts Bestandkatalog der Sammlung des Grassimuseums Leipzig/Museum für Kunsthandwerk, 2003, cat. 52).
