66. A MIYAO-STYLE BRONZE FIGURE OF A HUNTER
Meiji era (1615-1868), late 19th century
Cast in two shades of bronze, chiselled on the surface and highlighted with gilding, depicting a hunter standing holding his separately-cast matchlock rifle while he blows a bird call, a satchel and powder flask at his waist and a sword thrust in his obi sash, set on a wood stand pierce-carved with scrolling vines
