66. A Sèvres plate from the service made for Laetitia Bonaparte ("Madame Mère"), circa 1802 The blue-ground well reserved with a circular panel painted with a laurel wreath surrounding a central gilt star motif, a wide band of loosely bound flowers including roses scrolling below the blue rim picked out with a gilt frieze of flower heads and stylised leaves, 25cm diam., "Sevres." in blue script, painter's mark for Francois-Antoine Pfeiffer (active 1771-1800), (small chips to rim, rubbing) The service consisted of 70 pieces, including 48 plates, at a total cost of 3000 francs.
