RARE BLUE-WHITE PORCELAIN DISH Mark and period Jiajing (1522-1566) A RARE SMALL BLUE AND WHITE 'DRAGON' WINE CUP Jiajing six-character mark and of the period The deep sides rising to a flared rim, painted around the sides in tones of vibrant cobalt-blue with a pair of striding dragons in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', the base inscribed with a six-character mark in underglaze blue. 4.7cm (1 7/8in) diam. 明嘉靖 青花龍紋盃 「大明嘉靖年制」款 Provenance: Formerly in a Swiss private collection 來源: 瑞士私人舊藏 Compare with a small wine cup similarly decorated with striding dragons but painted in yellow enamels, illustrated in Mayuyama Junkichi, Mayuyama, Seventy Years, Vol.I, Tokyo, 1976, p.285, no.854.
