In-4, 230x280 mm, 2ff. bl. faux-titre, title, 104 pp. (dern. n. ch.) and 1 f. n. ch. justification. Colour frontispiece by Salvador Dali, stencilled in the workshops of D. Jacomet. 28 x 22.5 cm. In sheets, filled cover printed in black and blue on salmon paper, uncut copy. Publisher's slipcase. First edition. No. 50/60 first copies on Annam vellum from the papeteries de Rives, with the coloured frontispiece. Written eight years after the first, the Second Manifesto of Surrealism is both a theoretical and polemical text, in which André Breton violently attacks those he considers to have betrayed the spirit of the movement, notably Antonin Artaud and Robert Desnos. Provenance Louis Broder collection. Private collection, France (acquired from the latter).
