A late 19th century hardstone, rose-cut diamonds, gold 750°/°° snuff box apparently unmarked, possibly German Oval, the lid with a painted portrait bust of a woman in red dress, bordered by foliate scrolling, the side with relief garlands set with colourless stones, strung between columns, the base inset with banded agate, with a pierced foliate scrolling openwork mount to the underside, length 8cm, weight gross 234.2gms.
