A Meissen figure of the grape-seller from the "Cris de Paris," circa 1755 Modelled by Peter Reinicke, holding a basket of red grapes on his right arm and scales apparatus in his left hand, he wears a tricorn hat and yellow coat, his stockings loose and falling to his feet, on a scrollwork base edged in gold with applied flowers and leaves, 14.1cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to back of base, (minor restoration) Based on drawings by Christophe Huet, the original drawing inscribed "Nr10 Ch-ein Bauer mit grauem Hut welcher Weintrauben nach Gewicht verkauft.
