A beautiful and elegant estoc
dating: circa 1600
provenance: Saxony, Straight double-edged blade, ribbed at the center. Ricasso outlined at the edges and with remains of marks on both sides. Blackened iron hilt, the lower ring-guard with finely pierced front valve. Pointed quillon block, the bases of the quillons carved like a cushion. Curved quillon slightly lowering towards the blade and with enlarged and grooved edge. Three loop-guards. Faceted, mushroom-shaped pommel with flat base. Blackened hilt. Wooden handle covered with metal wire binding. length 113 cm.
