A beautiful cased pair of flintlock pistols by Pierre-Nicolas Boutet dating: about 1810 provenance: Versailles, Octagonal, smooth-bore, finished, 13 mm cal. barrels, signed in gold 'Boutet et fils à Versailles', gold-decorated ends, fore-sight; engraved tangs, marked in gold '1' and '2', with sight; flintlocks signed 'Boutet Versailles', engraved with floral motifs and provided with antifriction and sealing systems; three quarters stocks, with checkered grip and iron mounts, engraved en suite. Trigger-guards with finger support, embossed butt-plates. In a wooden case, lined with repaired red velvet, marked on the cover in gold 'MANUFACTURE IMPERIALE D'ARMES A VERSAILLES BOUTET ET FILS'; complete with all the tools of a good quality.
