A beautiful Pesh Kabz with lapis lazuli grip scales
dating: 19th Century
provenance: India, Curved, single-and-false-edged blade of fine damask, T-shaped back with fine ribbing and a carved and gilded flower at the base. Grip with lapis lazuli grip scales, wide central iron band decorated with finely gold-inlaid floral motifs and a flat surface.
At the top a movable, pierced ring. Wooden scabbard covered with red velvet (partially worn and probably of later time) with pierced silver mounts. Pierced heart-shaped suspension ring. length 34.5 cm.
