A beautiful silver-mounted flintlock gun
dating: 1801
provenance: Algeria, Long, octagonal, smoothbore, 18 mm cal. barrel tapering toward the nozzle, silver rear sight at the base; miquelet lock decorated with silver plaques engraved with floral motifs, signed and dated '1213' (1789) under the spring; wooden full stock enriched with silver inlay, pierced and engraved with floral motifs. With a label featuring an inscription in Arabic behind the tang (property of Ismail Hussein, made by Khali in 1216) (1801). Five engraved and pierced barrel brackets. Silver-tipped wooden ramrod decorated with bas-relieved floral bands. length 183.5 cm.
