A beautiful silver-mounted flintlock gun
dating: 1801
provenance: Algeria, Long, octagonal, smoothbore, 18 mm cal. barrel tapering toward the nozzle, silver rear sight at the base; miquelet lock decorated with silver plaques engraved with floral motifs, signed and dated '1213' (1789) under the spring; wooden full stock richly silver-inlaid, pierced and engraved with floral motifs. With a plate featuring an inscription in Arabic behind the tang (property of Ismail Hussein, made by Khali in 1216) (1801). Five engraved and pierced barrel brackets. Wooden ramrod with long, silver tip decorated with floral bands in bas-relief. length 183.5 cm.
