A beautiful snaphaunce lock pistol dating: 1670/80 provenance: Brescia, Smoothbore, two-stage, 15.5 mm cal. barrel, octagonal at the first part with a frame at the base and an engraved lily, then sixteen-faced after a ring with another lily at the nozzle; long flintlock with a flat lock plate, cock and batterie richly engraved and partially carved with floral motifs, sliding pan cover, engraved. Wooden full stock (small crack) slightly sculpted with beautiful steel inlays abundantly pierced and engraved with snakes among floral motifs. Trigger guard and butt-plate decorated en suite with the lock. The trigger and the two barrel brackets are finely pierced. Belt hook. Iron-tipped wooden ramrod.
