Early Western Zhou dynasty, 11th century BC On a foot with a molded bottom edge, a slightly curved body with everted rim, the narrow register below the rim with two taotie in high relief at midpoint and whirling bossed alternating with flower-like ornaments on leiwen, the register around the foot with taotie and leiwen pattern. The two animal headed handles with small hook pendants. Glossy surface with reddish brown and dark olive green patina.
