A cast and patinated bronze of 'Shoulao on a dear'
China, Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), 17th century
Originaly olding a flask in the left hand, the God of Longevity seated side-saddle on a deer whilst wearing long robes baring his chest, a pierced hole in the shape of a ruyi to the lower back of his robe above tenon joints, the deer with thin long legs and its head turned. Cast mark on the back of the deity.
