A celadon porcelain stem bowl China, Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) This footed bowl, crafted during the Ming Dynasty, is a nice example of the artistry and craftsmanship of Longquan celadon ware, enhanced by the addition of a mysthical animal decoration. Celadon, a type of ceramic glaze known for its subtle green hues, was highly prized in China and beyond. This particular bowl features a classic design, typically consisting of a bowl-shaped body, a tall, flared foot, and a scalloped rim. The body is decorated with incised or molded mysthical animals among waves.The celadon glaze is applied evenly, creating a smooth and lustrous surface.
