A FATIMID ROCK CRYSTAL FLASK, PROBABLY EGYPT OR SYRIA, 9TH - 10TH CENTURY This exquisite Fatimid flask, dating from the 9th to 10th century, is a rare example of Islamic glasswork, likely originating from Egypt or Syria during the Fatimid Caliphate. The flask is crafted from clear rock crystal, with subtle yellow-brown inclusions, and features beautifully carved decorative elements. The body of the flask is adorned with geometric patterns, including a diamond-shaped motif. The ends of the flask are embellished with rounded, almost floral-like decorations, enhancing its visual symmetry and balance. H: 2.8cm
