A fine and elegant Pappenheimer rapier dating: about 1620 provenance: Germany, Straight, double-edged blade with central rib. Imposing iron hilt with double richly pierced valve, the front one of round shape, the rear one irregular and pointed towards the right side. S-shaped quillon, loop-guard with supporting quillon starting from the left pas d'ane. Flat pommel rising upwards. Wooden grip with fine metal wire binding and moor's heads. length 121 cm.
