A fine rapier with chiseled hilt
dating: circa 1600
provenance: Northern Italy, Straight, double-edged blade, with groove at the base, long ricasso with thin groove at the borders. Classical, iron hilt finely carved with floral motifs, pointed center of crossguard featuring a beautiful mask, pommel decorated with longitudinal bands carved with foliage alternating with grooves. Smooth back with pitting. Wooden grip covered with wire binding and moor's heads. length 124 cm.
