A fine wakizashi in aikuchi koshirae, mei: Etchu no Kami Masatoshi dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan Unokubi-zukuri blade, Iori-mune. Worked in the Naginata-naoshi style. Naginata-hi. Nagasa: 32.7 cm. Clearly visible and outlined hamon and hada. Nakago-jiri: Kurijiri. Mei: Etchu no Kami Masatoshi (shodai). Shinto era, early 17th century. Mishina school. Two Mekugi-ana. Copper habaki laminated in gilded metal. In elegant koshirae from the late Edo period, lacquered with black and gilded specks. Tsuka with gilded metal and silver menuki. Saya lacquered en suite. Signed Kogatana, with Kozuka in shakudo nanako with flying cranes and small gilded elements. Complete with numbered NBTHK Tokubetsu-hozon certificate. length 47,2 cm.
