A general's helmet from King Umberto period converted for the use under Victor Emanuel III
dating: Late 19th Century
provenance: Kingdom of Italy, Metal skull covered with black fur (Phoca vitulina, very small missing parts); marked silver mounts, gilded crest (incomplete crown) the star also gilded featuring the crowned monogram 'VE', chin-straps with scales. Interior with brown sweat band and blue silk cap (signs of use and time). Complete with the very rare plumage of aigrette and heron feathers. Very rare. height 27.5 cm.
