A German Gothic medieval sword with gold-inlaid blade, circa 1250 The double-edged blade with shallow fullers on both sides. The abbreviated inscription "DICNLACDICLAE" inlaid in gold on one side, above which a leaf ornament and a stylised eagle. A bronze-inlaid cross pattée in a circle on the opposite side. Straight quillons, the round arms widening conically outwards slightly. Sturdy, slightly tapered tang with a horizontal oval disc pommel. Small, square, riveted finial in bronze. Length 104 cm. Condition: III
