A heavy cavalry sword of the Guard of the polish king Augustus II
dating: early 18th Century
provenance: Poland, Straight double-edged blade with central groove, long tang with monogram of King Augustus II 'AR' under crown. Dresden Arsenal mark near the base. Iron hilt with heart-shaped, pierced double valve. Short quillon curved towards the blade. Loop guard with two-sided loops. Thumb ring. Oval pommel. Wooden handle covered with wire binding. Areas with rust damage. Extremely rare. length 103.5 cm.
