In memory of Philippe de Lasalle, an 18th-century draughtsman, this polychrome woven portrait was exhibited at the 1855 Paris World’s Fair; the famous Lyon native is depicted in a medallion surrounded by a wreath of natural flowers. Framed (with a slight tear), 52 x 40 cm.
